Aaron Goach - President and General Counsel

Aaron Goach, an American citizen and Hong Kong permanent resident, is a co-founder and Director and the President and General Counsel of Magellan Solutions Outsourcing, Inc. Aaron has nearly nine years’ experience living and working in financial and legal services in the Asia-Pacific region.

Previously, Aaron was a Vice President and Director in the Global Origination Counsel Group of the Office of General Counsel at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., now a unit of Bank of America Corporation.  Based in Hong Kong, he was senior legal counsel to Merrill Lynch’s corporate finance and capital markets businesses in Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region.  Aaron was a leading member of the Merrill Lynch team that acted as Independent Financial Advisor to the independent shareholders and the Independent Board Committee of MTR Corporation Limited in its US$49.5 billion merger with the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, voted Hong Kong M&A Deal of the Year(2008) by Asian Legal Business.  Aaron was also a core member of the Merrill Lynch teams that executed the 2008 US$17.9 billion New York Stock Exchange listing of Visa Inc. (the largest equity initial public offering in American history) and the 2006 US$21.9 billion simultaneous Hong Kong and Shanghai listings of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (the largest equity initial public offering in world history).

Formerly, Aaron was an associate with the United States Corporate Group in the Hong Kong office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a leading international law firm headquartered in London with 2,500 lawyers and 28 offices worldwide and approximately £1.2 billion in annual revenues. Aaron began his career as an associate in the New York office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm headquartered in New York and San Francisco with 800 lawyers and 14 offices worldwide and approximately US$600 million in annual revenues.  Aaron's experience in private practice includes representing some of the world's most prominent industrial and technology companies and financial institutions in abroad range of international financial transactions, including exchange listings, public offerings, private placements, tender offers, takeovers, strategic investments and joint venture transactions.

Aaron is an attorney-at-law admitted to the New York Bar, is listed in the Asian In-House Counsel Register (published by Asian Legal Business) and has been profiled by International Financial Law Review (published by Euromoney Institutional Investor plc) and Corporate Counsel Magazine. He is a graduate of the Harvard Law School - where he was aneconomics Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard College and Business Manager of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy - and is a Phi Beta Kappa,summa cum laude graduate of Muhlenberg College (Pennsylvania), where he was a Charles A. Dana Foundation Scholar.  Aaron is a native English speaker and has attained fluency in Spanish (Castilian), competence in Catalán and basic knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese) and Pilipino (Tagalog).
